Carryboy Philippines has grown to become a leading player in the automotive accessories market, selling canopies, rollbars, pick-up bed covers and other products to auto and truck enthusiasts. But with rapid growth came the challenges of scaling its business processes and systems to meet the expectations of its customers.
Based in Quezon City, Carryboy Philippines was running QuickBooks for core business operations. As it expanded along with its parent company, Thailand-based Carryboy, the company encountered new business complexities that exposed the limitations of its desktop-based software.
After a thorough search for an alternative solution, NetSuite cloud ERP proved to be the ideal solution. With the assistance of IT Group Inc., a NetSuite Solution Provider partner in the Philippines and Indonesia, Carryboy Philippines deployed NetSuite’s industry-leading cloud ERP platform for financials, inventory and order management, providing new visibility and control over Carryboy’s fast-growing operations which had expanded in recent years to include four retail stores, more than two dozen retail partner locations and hundreds of distribution partners.
Since going live on NetSuite in 2011, Carryboy Philippines now has real-time data at its disposal and has eliminated tedious manual processes, minimizing the risk of error and improving overall productivity by about 50% across its workforce.
“Management can easily make quick and appropriate decisions because all the necessary data can be accessed simply in NetSuite,” said Alex Beltran, CFO at Carryboy Philippines. “We can now measure every aspect of our business and make significant improvements.”
At the operational level, Carryboy Philippines has streamlined its inventory management and order-to-shipment-to-cash processes while gaining the scalability to handle large transaction volumes, all without the cost and complexity of a less-flexible on-premise system.
“The inventory management capabilities of NetSuite have been very valuable because it’s the lifeblood of our business, and the synergy of numerous functions has given us a competitive advantage,” Beltran said.
Cloud adoption on the rise
Chris Gamboa, President of IT Group, said interest among Philippine companies in cloud ERP is rising as the benefits become more apparent and internet connectivity across the country improves.
“More and more companies in the Philippines are seeing and reaping the benefits of the cloud. The technology has been around for quite some time, but every day I still look forward to helping local businesses, be it a start-up or an enterprise stuck in the on-premise world, to fully understand the power of cloud-based solutions,” Gamboa said.
Carryboy Philippines is indeed one of those companies who has successfully made the transition to the cloud and thriving.
